Durval Pereira’s goal in the 85th minute gave Quinnipiac men’s soccer its fifth NEC victory of the season as the Bobcats beat the Long Island Blackbirds 1-0 on Friday at the Quinnipiac Soccer Field.

Heading up to Newton, Mass., to face the ACC’s Boston College Eagles on Monday afternoon, the Bobcats brought along five wins, five ties and an empty loss column. It was a long, quiet bus ride back to Hamden after the Eagles handed Quinnipiac their first loss of the season, a nail-biter, 1-0.

A sweet Suprise

When Quinnipiac University men’s soccer freshman phenom Philip Suprise arrived at Pius XI High School one morning last fall, he was surprised to find out that ESPN had recognized him for his superb soccer achievements.
“I didn’t even know I was featured on ESPN until my homeroom teacher told me,” Suprise, 18, said.

Mars scores lone goal in tie

Four of the first six games the Quinnipiac men’s soccer team played this season wound up in double overtime. All four double-OT’s ended in a tie, including Wednesday’s affair against the Stony Brook Seawolves.
After a goal from each team in the first half, the concluding 66 minutes and nine seconds of the game showed scoreless action, leaving the game in a 1-1 tie.

Men’s soccer falls in NEC’s

All good things must come to an end, as the Quinnipiac Bobcats men’s soccer team was eliminated from the NEC Playoffs by the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights, losing 2-0 on Nov. 14. This loss caps the careers for Bobcat seniors Ryan Smith and Graciano Brito.

‘Cats scratch out 3-1 win

The Bobcats defeated intrastate rival Central Connecticut State University 3-1 on Sunday. Forward Durval Pereira scored the first goal for Quinnipiac, and fellow forward Graciano Brito scored two goals, including the game-winner. Pereira assisted both of Brito’s goals and midfielder Dominic Adams also added two assists for the Bobcats.

Men’s Soccer splits homestand

Last Friday, the Bobcats lost in their match against conference foe Fairleigh Dickinson by a score of 2-0. Going into the game, the Bobcats were tied with the Knights in the NEC standings. The Bobcats had not lost two straight games all year until losing to St.
