Union forces another Game 3 for Quinnipiac

After defeating Union in five overtimes Friday night, Quinnipiac was looking to punch its ticket to the ECAC Hockey Semifinals with a win Saturday night. Instead, the Bobcats will play a deciding third game on Sunday after falling to the Dutchmen 3-1.

Quinnipiac outlasts Union in longest NCAA hockey game [Video]

Quinnipiac took the first game of a best-of-3 series at Union with a 3-2 win in five overtimes. The 150 minutes 22 seconds game is the longest in NCAA history, while Dan Clarke set both Quinnipiac and ECAC Hockey Tournament records for saves with 73.

Men’s ice hockey takes series opener against Dartmouth

Quinnipiac took the first game in a best-of-three series against Dartmouth, 3-2, led by senior captain Jean-Marc Beaudoin’s third straight three-point game. Beaudoin and Eric Lampe tallied their 100th career points on Beaudoin’s power-play goal in the third period to give the Bobcats a 3-1 lead and an insurance goal.

For just the fifth time in program history the Quinnipiac Bobcats men’s lacrosse team scored 20 goals in a game, its first time since 2002. Fifteen different players recorded a point in the 20-3 win against Wagner.

Women’s ice hockey falls in quarterfinals [Slideshow]

Sunday’s decisive ECAC quarterfinals game was a marathon on ice at the TD Bank Sports Center between the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Quinnipiac women’s ice hockey teams on Sunday. It took five overtimes and 144 minutes and 32 seconds, the second longest NCAA hockey game in Division I history, for the Engineers to beat the Bobcats, 2-1.
