Senior pitcher Michael Oskandy allowed three runs through eight innings, while junior shortstop Mickey Amanti went 4-for-5 with a three-run home run to anchor the Bobcats in a 9-5 victory over Long Island University on Friday in the first game of a four-game series.

Mount St. Mary’s pitcher Kent Worthington threw a no-hitter in an 18-0 rout against Quinnipiac on Sunday. Worthington battled through the cold and struck out nine batters to achieve one of baseball’s toughest accomplishments.

Women’s ice hockey falls in quarterfinals [Slideshow]

Sunday’s decisive ECAC quarterfinals game was a marathon on ice at the TD Bank Sports Center between the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Quinnipiac women’s ice hockey teams on Sunday. It took five overtimes and 144 minutes and 32 seconds, the second longest NCAA hockey game in Division I history, for the Engineers to beat the Bobcats, 2-1.

Senior forward Kallie Flor’s third-period goal, along with the Bobcats defensive intensity, led them to a 1-0 victory over Yale at the TD Bank Sports Center Friday night.

It was a milestone night for junior Justin Rutty, but the same old story for the Quinnipiac Bobcats. Rutty scored his 1,000th career point, while he and James Johnson scored 17 each as they led the Bobcats (17-7, 11-2) to a 77-65 victory over the St. Francis (N.Y.) Terriers at the TD Banks Sports Center on Thursday night.

Men’s Ice Hockey: Bobcats fall in overtime to Tigers

The Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey team trailed all game Monday night against Princeton before they came back in the third period to send it into overtime. However, the Tigers won it in overtime on Dan Bartlett’s third goal of the game to defeat the Bobcats 4-3.

Women’s Ice Hockey: Princeton’s late comeback forces tie

The Quinnipiac women’s hockey team was ready to end the final day of 2009 with a victory on Thursday, but a third period comeback by Princeton forced a 2-2 tie.
Quinnipiac led 2-1 with less than two minutes to play before Princeton freshman Alex Kinney fired a shot at freshman goaltender Victoria Vigilanti.
