Men’s ice hockey notches second straight shutout

For the first time since 2005, the Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey team recorded a shutout in consecutive games. Friday night’s 5-0 victory over St. Lawrence, a follow-up to last Saturday’s 2-0 win over Colgate, makes Quinnipiac the only team in ECAC Hockey to have consecutive shutouts this season.

Men’s Ice Hockey: Harvard takes down No. 8 Quinnipiac 3-1

The Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey team headed to Harvard last night, only to be sent home by the Crimson after a 3-1 loss. Sophomore Yuri Bouharevich scored Quinnipiac’s lone goal in the game.
Harvard scored midway through the first period when Luke Grenier collected a rebound deflected by Quinnipiac goalie Dan Clarke and used a wrist shot into the top right corner to score the first goal of the game at 9:54.

Men’s Ice Hockey: Bobcats bowl over Colgate, Cornell

The Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey team solidified its lead in ECAC Hockey this weekend, bringing home its fifth and sixth consecutive wins against Colgate and Cornell, respectively, during the Bobcats’ road trip to New York.
On Friday night, Quinnipiac beat Colgate 5-3.

Women’s Ice Hockey: Bobcats split weekend with Ivies

Quinnipiac started the weekend strong on Saturday with a 2-1 win over Dartmouth, but lost to Harvard on Sunday 7-2.
On Saturday afternoon, Quinnipiac beat Dartmouth for the first time in program history, winning 2-1, after previously suffering six losses and two ties against the Big Green.

Field Hockey: Lock Haven bounces ‘Cats in semis

The Quinnipiac field hockey team made it to the NEC Tournament for the ninth time in the last 11 years, but lost to the top-seeded Lock Haven Lady Eagles, 2-1 on Friday in the semifinals.
Freshman Kristen Engelke scored the lone goal for the Bobcats late in the second half.

Field hockey rolls past Monmouth 2-1

Quinnipiac sophomore Kaitlyn Notarianni rebounded a shot off Monmouth goalie Melissa Katz less than five minutes into overtime during Sunday’s field hockey match. Her second shot, lifted over Katz, was sent into the far corner of the net and was the reason why the Bobcats happily left the field with a dramatic and successful 2-1 NEC win.

XC goes 1, 2 in home invitational

The Quinnipiac women’s cross-country team had an exciting weekend at home, finishing first overall at Saturday’s Quinnipiac Invitational.
The meet was run on Quinnipiac’s 5K course, which starts at the soccer field, heads down New Road, goes to the beginning of Mount Carmel Avenue, heads back down to the soccer field, goes around New Village and arrives back to the field to the finish line.

Tennis newcomers shine at Doubles Festival

The Quinnipiac Bobcats women’s tennis team had a very successful beginning to the 2009-10 season on Sunday at the Fairfield University Doubles Festival. The Bobcats walked away with eight wins and three losses in matches against Fairfield University and SUNY Albany.
