Freshmen fuel Tiger victory over Bobcats

For the past two years Quinnipiac freshmen have taken center stage in the ECAC. On Wednesday afternoon, that distinction belonged to a group of Princeton freshmen.

Matt Godlewski and Cam Ritchie scored their first collegiate goals and junior Brett Wilson provided the game winner to help to the Tigers defeat the Bobcats 4-2 Wednesday afternoon at the TD Banknorth Sports Center and also prevented Quinnipiac from sweeping Princeton in the season series.

Quinnipiac proves to be top cat in NJ

It may have taken 10 games but Jamie Bates, Bryan Leitch and Ben Nelson have picked up where they left off last season.

The first line trio exploded for a combined 11 points in the Bobcats 5-2 win over Princeton Wednesday evening at Hobey Baker Rink. Bates and Leitch had a goal and three assists each, while Nelson chipped in two goals and an assist on the night.

Bobcats face Clarkson and SLU in home ECAC openers

After an opening weekend where the Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey team tied Colgate 1-1 and lost to Cornell 5-3, the Bobcats (2-3-1 overall, 0-1-1 ECAC) return home to the TD Banknorth Sports Center to face off against perenial ECAC powers Clarkson and St. Lawrence this weekend.

Law faculty discuss race issues

Three members of the Quinnipiac Law School faculty discussed hate speech in relation to the first amendment on Thursday Sept. 27 in the Law School’s grand courtroom.

In light of the recent events on the Quinnipiac campus involving racism, approximately 60 students and faculty listened as Law School Dean Brad Saxton and professors Marilyn Ford and Martin Margulies offered their insight on the amendment’s place in a university setting in a panel discussion format.

Homophobic slur found in Law School

Another act of vandalism has struck the Quinnipiac University campus, this time at the Law School.

On the morning of Sept. 6, Law School janitorial staff found a slur with racial and homophobic overtones along with a student’s name written on a classroom chalkboard and reported the findings to Quinnipiac security.

Germano premieres loudcampus.com

Quinnipiac alumnus Mike Germano has launched a Web site called LoudCampus.com that he hopes will complement the Facebook and MySpace sites. Germano, who graduated in 2005, was approached by two Cornell students with the idea for LoudCampus. They chose Germano’s Web-design company, Carrot Web Design LLC, to create the Web site.
