When we think of movie
stars, we think of luxurious places like Beverly Hills and the Hamptons. In actuality, many movie stars come to Connecticut’s Litchfield County to take refuge from the busy New York streets. They find comfort, privacy and relaxation in their colonial mansions among the tranquil lakes and rolling hills.
Celebrities, world-renowned writers and big business players have long been drawn to Connecticut. One of the biggest reasons is because it is close to New York City, but more importantly, they have found that they are not bothered here. They are rarely asked for an autograph or a picture. Properties come equipped with long driveways and magnificent views of the countryside and water. The homes have fireplaces, state-of-the-art kitchens, master bedroom suites and various other spacious bedrooms for family members or guests.
Over 50 celebrities and notable people live throughout Litchfield County. Some of the homes have only three bedrooms, while others are larger and equipped with indoor and outdoor pools, tennis and basketball courts, or even gymnasiums.
